How often does a 3 4 week old kitten eat. If you are bottle feeding you ll notice the kittens are drinking much more at each feeding but at fewer feedings probably four to five times a day. If your kitten is weak or doesn t eat much you should feed it more frequently. If you notice that your kitten sleeps for longer periods during the night don t wake them up to feed. The kittens already built routine time during these ages and thus ensure that the foods are placed on safe place and do not often move it around.
Feed a kitten 12 weeks of age should have the same pattern. Without some canned food they won t get enough nutrition to grow properly. If you are feeding your kitten both dry and canned foods then twice a day canned feedings are sufficient. You can arrange the schedule to fit in with your own routine although it is best to keep a consistent routine from day to day.
From 3 months to 6 months. This may result in less frequent milk feedings. A 2 to 3 week old kitten will still need to be fed every 2 3 hours and it should consume at least 1 2 tablespoon of formula or milk during each meal. Newborn kittens need to eat every two to three hours but at 4 weeks old you can cut this down to every six to eight hours.
Morning afternoon and evening is a good choice. If a kitten is nursing from its mother you ll have to depend on how much the kitten weighs to know whether or not it is consuming enough food. At this age you can start introducing solid food use wet food at first and try mixing it with kitten formula. If your little furbaby doesn t seem to take to the gruel right away you might have to still provide milk replacement in addition to make sure she s getting enough calories.
